Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a form of guided deep relaxation that has its roots in a philosophy called Sankhya which was first documented around 700 BC. It is usually practised lying down and is sometimes called ‘Yogic Sleep’. In Yoga Nidra we gently focus our attention on the body and the breath leading us into a state of deep rest and relaxation.

Anyone can practice Yoga Nidra, you just need to be able to lie or sit comfortably and close your eyes. It is particularly helpful at times when we are fatigued or want to find some peacefulness but struggle to do so on our own. The practice encourages us to draw inwards, to release the body and the breath, allowing the mind to settle and become still. By resting deeply, we can find a profound sense of harmony and release, the mind and body cease to struggle and we discover a place of genuine peace within.
